Kate and Danny’s Beautiful Wedding Day
The Bride & Groom.
I first met Kate and Danny when they popped over to my office to see me to chat about their wedding, they live in Australia and were back in the Uk for only a short period staying at Kate’s parents house just 1 mile from me. I was recommended to them by 2 couples whose weddings I had done and they had been following my Facebook page and website. As soon as I met them and we sat down I instantly liked them and when you see these two with their friends you instantly see that they have an incredible group .. they are so close and I know they are going to be extremely missed when they go back to Australia. Within 20 minutes Kate and Danny had filled out their Booking Form and I was delighted that they had booked me. The day couldn’t come quick enough for me.
The Wedding Day.
The day started at 10 am in the room at Theobald’s Park taking some pictures with Danny and his best man Simon. These two have an incredibly close friendship and have been best mates since they were 3 years old. They’ve travelled and done amazing things together which was beautifully articulated in Simons best mans speech which really was amazing and extremely touching. Once the pictures of them getting ready were done.. Danny’s close friend (G)eorge walked over and they were then met by Harry the grooms bro (usher).. we did some great pictures and they finished with a cold beer and loads of man hugs and laughter.
I then arrived at Kate’s Parents house at 11 am a beautiful listed property with lots of nice areas to use for the pictures. Kate was getting her hair done by Nicole (brilliant hairdresser and great girl).. she looked very relaxed drinking champagne in the Kitchen.. I then went into one of the other rooms and met the bridesmaids.. Lauren (Danny’s sister).. was having her “eyebrows” put back on (haha) and the other two bridesmaids were getting their make up done by Pro make up artist.. the brides cousin “Danielle Miller”.. everything was perfect and very chilled. I went up into the master bedroom and saw Kate’s dress hanging up..it looked amazing and then Little Lucy (Flowergirl) came in and had her photos done… very cheeky and photogenic little girl. The brides mum came in and I wished her a happy anniversary 33 years to the exact day. I then did the pictures of everyone ready in their dresses and it was at this point Kate walked down the stairs to see her dad for the first time… it was a beautiful moment.
I got to the church with only 10 minutes to spare 12.50, so made a decision to get the shots of Danny and the boys after the ceremony. Kate arrived and the sun was out.. everything was perfect… she walked in and down the aisle with her dad and Danny looked and had a big smile on his face. After the ceremony we did some pictures with close family and the bridal party before the guests were formed into 2 lines across the road and up to the Stream (thanks Richard and Harry for organising) everyone threw the confetti “amazing shot” and then the couple got into the Navy Blue 1957 Classic Bentley (SJX Car Hire) and headed off to Theobald’s Park.
Once the couple pulled up the drive I directed the wedding car into the front of the Mansion to get some shots of the structures and detail of the Mansion House, we went inside and did some pictures in the entrance hall and used the amazing staircase for pictures… see pic of Bride on staircase.
Kate and Danny then walked into the Ridings Courtyard and had a well-earned drink joining their guests for the drinks reception.. occasionally stopping for a few photos. They then went in for the wedding breakfast and at the end of the main course 5.15 the lights were lowered, the projection screen dropped down and the guests were all given a ticket.. Yes the couple had only arranged for the Grand National to be screened live “everyone had a chance of winning”… this was amazing! everyone was up in their seats and DANNY the Groom got the WINNER.. ‘Rule The World”..very apt because that was the song that they were dancing to for their first dance later on that evening… “quite something”.
After the Grand national the couple went out into the courtyard with their guests whilst the Barn was turned around for the evening’s entertainment.. A Band called The Toons … they rocked big time and were supported by Howard Neil local DJ.
The first dance was amazing and the guests were all up dancing, the dance floor was packed all night and everyone partied hard before going out for some Hog Roast.
I finished the pictures with a final image of Kate and Danny silhouetted against the sky, put the camera down and had a Cold Beer with the Groom and some of his great mates before saying my goodbyes.
Here is a selection of pictures that I have chosen from their day, hope you enjoy.
