Jill and Matthew got in touch with me about their Luton Hoo Christmas wedding after seeing the photos I had taken for their friend Neil Yapp. The wedding was to take place in late December at the beautiful Luton Hoo Mansion. Ceremony venue, St Helens Church, Wheathampstead, followed by a reception at Luton Hoo. The boys got ready at Matt and Jills house and the girls got ready at the brides parents house, with the makeup brushes being wielded. The time had gone and I needed to get over to the Swan Pub where the boys and guests were gathering. Bailey the bride and grooms French Bulldog was there and he lead the guys down to the church to meet the vicar after all…he was the ring bearer!.
The light in the church was beautiful as Jill made her way down the aisle; a perfect shaft of sunlight lighting her up like a star of the Hollywood Silver Screen. The ceremony was happy and fun mixed with tears. They literally ran out of the church and leapt into a shower of confetti, and then it was time to head over to Luton Hoo. The atmosphere there was very relaxed; everyone was chatting and drinking, the champagne flowing. The light was great so I took Jill and Matthew out into the grounds for the romantic shots and then headed in and shot the family pictures on the main staircase. The evening was peppered with speeches, including one from the two best men which was AMAZING. The party kicked off with a great first dance before everyone hit the dancefloor. Luton Hoo is now up there with my favourite Hertfordshire venues, it has lots of interesting nooks and crannies; a really laid back vibe and great space both indoors and out. What’s not to love?
The last picture I took was a sparkler arch followed by an amazing fireworks display.
