Abbie and Will’s summer wedding at Minstrel Court in Royston

Date Of wedding – Monday 30th July 2018.

Bride – Abbie Lorin Ravenscroft.

Groom – Will Hawdon.

Brides Parents – Rosemary and Greg Ravenscroft.

Grooms Parents – Jenny and John Hawdon.

Ceremony – Conservatory by the Lake at Minstrel Court.

Reception Venue – Minstrel Court.

Maid Of Honour – Ella Cockerell (brides sister).

Bridesmaids – Alice and Martha Ravenscroft.

Best Man –Nick.

Ushers – Owen and Kurt.

Music – Piano DJ.

Photographer – John Paul ODonnell.

I arrived over at Minstrel Court nice and early to familiarise myself with the grounds and best areas to shoot the pictures in. I walked round and found some nice spots particularly the lake and old ruins. . I then got a text from Abbie saying she was on route and running a little late. Next thing her sister Ella and John arrived with the dresses and I started to capture the early part of the wedding. Abbie then arrived and went into the marquee to take a look at her magnificient wedding cake a replica of the Minas Tirith castle. Abbie and Will are into epic high fantasy and the this was the theme of the wedding.

As Abbie was getting into her dress I went over to a wooded cabin where Will was getting ready with his best man Nick. I shot some pictures using the trees as I wanted to capture the woodland feel for the shots. Once Will was ready he went over to see the registrar and I went and got the final touches of the dress being laced up. Abbie was now ready and she walked out to see her dad for the first time in her dress. First thing her dad did after the first signs of love passed was hug his daughter.. you could see Abbie was definitely a daddys girl. John then pulled his rangerover round a took a nice slow drive with the bride and her dad down to the conservatory on the lake for the ceremony.

Will and all the guests were now ready it was now time for Abbie to make her entrance in with her dad. The piano music was lovely – Will was wiping away the tears as he was looking at his bride come down the aisle towards him. There were two readings by Wills sister and Abbies brother. After the readings they exchanged the rings and sealed the wedding with a huge kiss to which all the guests cheered.

We then headed down to the marquee and the bride and groom had reception drinks with their guests. I did lots of pictures in the grounds using the old stone ruins and the lake. The guests were all invited into the marquee and then the bride and groom made their entrance. The marquee erupted into cheers and Abbie and Will sat down with all their guests for their wedding breakfast.

After the meal the speeches started. They were brilliant speeches containing laughter, seriousness and some great stories. We then headed out and did a early evening shoot in the sunshine across the lake before the evening guests arrived. Piano DJ were now set up and Will and Abbie had their first dance together. The dance floor then filled up and I got some great shots particularly Johns Michael Jackson Thriller routine…it was brilliant.

I finished the pictures with a beautiful shot outside the marquee as the sun was setting. Then got ready for the fireworks which all the guests really enjoyed. The photos were now finished and I made my way over to the couple to say goodbye and leave them to enjoy the party with all their guests.
