What a fantastic day it was, the sun was out it was 80 degrees and I was shooting a wedding at my favourite venue “Fanhams Hall”. As the couple’s June wedding day rolled around in a blaze of sunshine and blue skies over Ware I was ready for a great day shooting pictures. As a Hertfordshire wedding photographer it’s always an honour to be part of such a relaxed and fun-filled wedding day as Katherine and Mark’s celebration was.

The day started at Katherine’s parents house in Winchmore Hill. When I arrived everyone was getting their make up and hair doneI had a lovely chat with the father of the bride and Ben. The house was lovely to work in, bright, cool and very spacious. I met all the bridesmaids and got some pictures to capture the moment so Mark could see a little bit of what went on.

I went up stairs with Katherine and her mum Karen and took some nice pictures with her beautiful wedding dress hanging up. Katherine then got into her dress and the next thing the bridesmaids were spraying her with perfume, mum was putting her necklace on and Katherine was now ready. It was now time for Katherine to walk down the stairs, her dad and Ben smiled this is a moment that I always love to see. I then got a nice picture from the front of the house and made my way over to the church for the wedding ceremony.

I arrived at the church and Mark was with his brother Lewis (best man) they arrived in a Rolls Royce Phantom. The ushers came over and after a few pictures I went and saw my favourite Priest Father John Gray. and ran through where id be positioned during the ceremony. Of which his reply was ” go wherever you like you know exactly what your doing”.

Katherine then arrived and walked down the aisle with her very proud dad. Mark’s face was caught perfectly as he saw her then looked straight on and took a deep breath. The ceremony was brilliant with father John doing his thing of walking around during the ceremony and talking to people. No one is safe and no other priest does this, this is why he really is the number two and only over shadowed by the pope himself. After the ceremony I arranged all the guests into two lines and the New Mr and Mrs Hickford came out of the church into the sunshine to a huge applause and bucket loads of confetti.

We then all headed over to Fanhams Hall. Anthony from Spotlight weddings was filming and together we took the couple into the hay field opposite the pavilion and then into the heart of Fanhams gardens. They then planted a rosebush in the rose garden. I then took them around the grounds and used the formal gardens, old metal gates, the arches and old walled areas for the main pictures of them together. The group shots were then done and we headed in for the wedding breakfast. After the meal the speeches started which were all brilliant and then headed out for some fun shots in the evening sunlight.

Piano DJ was now set up and the couple cut their wedding cake. The guests then surrounded the dance floor and had their first dance together. After the first dance Katherine danced with her grandad Paddy who was celebrating his 90th birthday.
