Avril and Emmets Wedding in the Italian Gardens at Theobald’s Park Hertfordshire Venue.

How we met.

I first met Avril and Emmet at a wedding show at Theobald’s Park about 18 months ago. We got chatting and straight away really hit it off and got on very well. They saw the display books that I had on display from Weddings I had done from the venue and the next thing Emmet was round to me filling out the Booking Form.

The wedding Day.

I arrived at the Marriott Hotel, Cheshunt where the boys were all getting ready. Emmet was standing outside with his best mate/best man Shifty and one of his ushers Tom.. the rest of the boys joined in the pictures and they then went and had a beer and contemplated making the short journey shortly to Theobald’s Park. when you see Emmet with his oldest child Archie (also Best man).. you realise what a great relationship they have together. Emmets boys have a massive amount of love for him, great guys and a very close group. I left them to it and shot over to Theobald’s to see Avril and the girls.

I arrived at Theobald’s Park and went straight up to see Avril. She was sitting down having a glass of champagne with her two sisters Karen and Linda and her sister in law Lauren –  Gracie (couples youngest child) was fast asleep and the atmosphere was really chilled with Emmets mum Pam and a few other ladies were all there chatting and getting ready. Avril had a few pictures taken with her dress then her beautiful sister linda came in for a few shots and was joined by Karen to make the 3 sisters picture complete.

I left the girls briefly and headed down to see Emmet and his best men arrive.. they all got out the Range Rover and had a few photos taken.. I was conscious that they had lots of stuff to organise so I did the shots and let them crack on.

The Ceremony

The Ceremony took place in The Italian Gardens at The Mansion House of Theobald’s Park.  It was a beautiful ceremony and Avril’s walk down the Aisle with her dad Noel was lovely to see.

After the Ceremony we did a big picture of the whole wedding party and I then got the main pictures taken, it was photographed in a very relaxed reportage style with all the guests bringing their champagne over and creating a beautiful relaxed set of pictures “which absolutely is perfect for these two lovely people”.

We all went through into the main room and sat down for the meal.  The speeches were fabulous, Noel (dad) then Emmet .. the whole room were cheering and helping him along whilst the emotional and the difficult parts of the speech were done (and there were difficult parts for Emmet) he did a great job and had a standing ovation.  Shiftys speech (Sharpie as I named him) was superb.. he delivered a speech worthy of the absolute closest and best mate anyone can have.. If you see Emmet and Shifty together you see two guys that are more like brothers to be honest. In fact, all the boys are the same.. very close and what a great set of mates.

After the speeches the evening guests started to arrive, everyone was chatting and drinking out the front of the Mansion House and then the DJ called through to start the Dancing off. The Bride and groom did their first dance whist being surrounded by their friends and family.  You couldn’t get in the room it was packed.

The Photo Booth they had was superb and one of the best I’ve ever seen, great quality photos and props. It was busy all night and of course I had to get in there with the bride and get a picture done.

At 10pm, Emmet and Avril got everyone out onto the back terrace and we were all treated to a fantastic firework display.. Emmet put his arm round his bride and they looked up and watched it.. what a great thing to do “it was for everyone to enjoy”.

I just want to finish this post by saying from the bottom of my heart “how happy I am that I was the person that got to photograph your wedding.  You said Id love your friends and family and you weren’t wrong.  You two are fantastic people and the friends and family are all absolutely beautiful people.
