Emma and Matt’s wedding at Capel Manor
How we met.
I met Matt many years ago when he was driving one of his dads wedding cars, I was taking the wedding photographs and since then I have worked on many weddings with him and his dad Ron . They own a car company called R and J Cars which do a lot of Weddings and also Funerals. They are a great family and I have got to know Ron and Matt extremely well over the years. To be the person asked to take the wedding photographs by such a well-known local company that see lots and lots of photographers was an absolute privilege and just shows you the quality of the picture I take to be the one entrusted to deliver the memories.
Taken two weeks before, I got the opportunity to photograph Matt and Emma and test their posing skills which was exceptionally good. I also took this opportunity to familiarise myself with the venue and grounds. See the pictures from that Pre-Shoot here.
The wedding Day.
I arrived at Emma and Matt’s house about 2 and a half hours prior to the ceremony. When I got in there Emma and the girls were all doing their make up in various parts of the house.. I took some natural shots then gathered them all together and did a few nice pictures to record what was happening. They then carried on and I went out in the garden and had a cup of tea with Emma’s dad Mitch (great guy and loves a cup of tea or two). He chatted about staying out the way in a house full of women and was getting some rays in the garden before going in and getting ready (wise and clever man).
Emma got into her dress with the help of her bridesmaids – Jade, Lucy, Sophie, Louise and Lucy and of course the brides very beautiful mum Angela.
We did a few pictures of the cars outside the house and I shot off to Capel Manor to see Matt. He was there with his sister, his mum Jean and dad Ron. Ron was also Matt’s best man, I have two boys myself and to be asked to be best man by your son really is the ultimate honour and privilege that a son can bestow on his dad.
The Wedding Ceremony took place in the grounds of Capel Manor and Emma and Matt signed the registers in a beautiful private building in the grounds before returning back to the guests to see Reverend John continue the service with a beautiful blessing to the couple.. Ron and Matt know Father John very well and he did a fantastic blessing to the couple before they released two doves. (Emma didn’t release hers correctly and it came straight towards me nearly taking my sunglasses clean off my head).
We then walked around the grounds of Capel Manor and did all the pictures of the Bride and Groom before joining the wedding party for drinks and the main constructed pictures were then taken.
I took a big picture of the complete wedding part from the roof of the main house and all the guests then took their seats in the marquee. Clive Maynard (Toastmaster and personal friend to Matt) then continued the formal proceedings and started the speeches off Mitch, Matt then Ron (see pic) they were 3 brilliant speeches. Afterwards the evening guests arrived and Emma and Matt cut the wedding cake and started the dancing with a beautiful first dance.
Matt and Emma, thank you for asking me to be your photographer i have known you a long time… I was looking forward to your wedding and I loved being there and seeing the day unfold.
