The day started off with Carl at 10.45 am for some getting ready shots with his dad and close friends etc. They were very relaxed when I got there. It was good to see Carl and one of his best men Matt … I have photographed weddings of their close friends before so they know me well. We did some great pics to capture the story of the morning and then I left them to get ready in peace and told them that I would see them at the pub opposite the church just before 1pm (half hour prior to the ceremony).
I arrived at The brides house and when I walked in everyone (bridesmaids..mum, twin sister etc) were all having hair and make up done together in a huge open planned room.. beautiful and light “perfect for taking pictures”.
Leanne was doing Deana’s hair, I know Leanne well as I did her wedding to Callum (great guy and Official Witness at the church later)… I blended into the background and captured the Reportage and Natural images in a very informal way. Once Deana was ready she went upstairs and got into her dress, she looked amazing when the light came in through the window ..she shone and looked fabulous.
I went downstairs and saw her dad .. he had his sunglasses on.. I know the reason was not because he looked bloody good but because he was crying and had a moment reflecting on the day.. everyone dad does “and it doesn’t matter how tough you are”. he then he saw his beautiful daughter and was fine.. Bob is a great guy and later on he delivered a Father of the brides speech that was absolutely top drawer.
I did some nice classical pictures of Deana in her dress and then shot off to get to the Pub to carry on with the boys before everyone walked over to the Church for the wedding.
Deana arrived in a beautiful Classic Rolls Royce and walked up to the church with her dad, Bridemaids, Flower Girl and Pageboy. Just before she walked in … I took a beautiful natural shot of Carl absolutely cool and relaxed. The Ceremony was beautiful and at the end the couple walked over and signed the registers with the main wedding party. They then walked down the Aisle and were congratulated outside by all their guests (made beautiful photography) the confetti was thrown and shortly afterwards they got into the car and made the short journey over to Brook Farm.
They had a beautiful drinks reception and had some pictures taken with everyone before heading into the Marquee for the meal. When I walked into the Marquee I was so impressed with the detail and effort that had gone into making it look so good – there was a really lovely vintage feel about it with little lights and signs and it created such a beautiful effect.. Carl then said that Deana had done it all.. wow she is very gifted. The couple had very kindly sat me with some friends and family in the marquee so I had a beautiful meal and also got to take some informal and candid shots whilst guests were chatting and laughing.
After the meal the speeches took place and were brilliant – all were personal and you could tell that a lot of time and effort had been put in particularly by the best men who delivered a first class speech keeping it clean but touching the sides occasionally.
The evening’s entertainment started and the couple had their first dance together, then everyone joined them for the rest of the evening.. bride and grooms friends.. Lucy, Leanne and many more were up dancing all night and I’m pleased to say that I got some of the best drunken dancing shots ever ha-ha. We finished the pictures with some Vintage and Classical Reportage shots outside in the evening light with the hearts and twinkle lights.. a beautiful way to finish the Storybook – Kissing against the beautiful trees and sky in the grounds of this fabulous Location in Hertfordshire.
Here is a selection of pictures that I have selected from the day. JP
