Clare and Josephs wedding at Fanhams Hall Herts

Date of wedding – Saturday 4th August 2018.

Bride – Clare Young.

Groom – Joseph Dove.

Brides Parents – Steve and Alison Young.

Grooms Parents – John and Francis Dove.

Ceremony & Reception Venue – Fanhams Hall Hotel.

Maid Of Honour – Lizzy Young (Brides Sister).

Best Man –Matt Dove (Grooms Brother).

Bridesmaids – Natalie Griffin, Hayley McBride & Jody Hills.

Ushers – Greg, Simon and Michael.

Flower Girls –Emmie & Lilly.

DJ – Dan Shoosh Weddings.

Music Daytime – Piano DJ.

What a magical wedding!  Let’s start from the beginning – which was actually 11am  at Fanhams Hall. I arrived on time to experience the preparations with Clare, her sister Lizzy, mum and her bridesmaids. I then went down and met everyone in the courtyard.  Joseph was looking pretty chilled and went into the Long Gallery to show his ushers what they needed to do when the guests arrived. It was at this point we did a few fun shots around the Piano. None of us were aware that Joseph actually played pretty well and gave us a repertoire of his best pieces. What a great moment and one I will not forget.

I then went in and saw Clare just before she got into her beautiful dress. I went back in shortly after and Clare looked elegant and breathtaking as her mum helped her to put her wedding shoes on. The girls then came in and saw her in her dress and were blown away. Steve the father of the bride then came in and had a huge smile on his face as he saw his beautiful daughter. I did a few pictures and then made my way into The Long Gallery to set up for the wedding ceremony. The bridesmaids all walked in and it was now time for the bride. Joseph was slightly nervous but this soon disappeared when he looked round and saw Clare – it was a beautiful moment and one that as a photographer always makes you smile. After a big YES at the end of the civil ceremony. We had  time for plenty of shots in the grounds of fanhams. Light and colours were on our side and the gardens looked fabulous as always.

We went into the main areas of the gardens and with Lizzy doing the dress got some amazing classical photos. After these pictures I  came up and shot all the family friends pictures.

Clare in her beautiful dress looked amazing in the sunshine. Worth mentioning is Clares’s makeup done by the very talented Sarah Catherall. Clare and Joseph both wanted this day to be very special, elegant and breathtaking. That is why they chose The Long Gallery and The Great Hall at Fanhams Hall and created a breathtaking wedding from scratch. And trust me it looked out of this world.

The meal was unbelievable – Paul Bray Fanhams Halls Executive Chef is untouchable. His food is as good as any Michelin star chef that I’ve come across and I’ve eaten in some of the nicest restaurants on my travels.  The speeches started and finished with a huge round of applause and everyone retiring out into the gardens with their drinks.  The golf buggy was ready and we went down into the Japanese gardens to get those lovey evening shots that I like to take as the sun softens.

The Bride and Groom managed to book one of the best DJ’s in the business – Shoosh Weddings. Everything was all set up and it was now time for Clare and Joseph to cut their wedding cake and have their first dance together.

I finished the pictures with an off camera flash shot at the bottom of the staircase. Being on this wonderful wedding was an absolute pleasure, fun and unforgettable experience. Any couple who is considering a wedding venue and wants the best, don’t think twice! Go and see the team at Fanhams Hall.

Thank you Clare and Joseph. When we were in the long grass taking pictures and you said you couldn’t imagine doing this with any other photographer.  I had a lump in my throat and a smile on my face. Your friends and family are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I know that we will stay in touch after the wedding.  You are an amazing couple.  And Joseph those pictures that we did later by the bridges made me laugh so much – I will never forget it.
