Hannah and Alex’s wedding took place at the beautiful Fanhams Hall. It is a beautiful Jacobean mansion that is tucked away in the Hertfordshire countryside just on the outskirts of Ware. I first met Hannah and Alex when they came along to a wedding show at Fanhams Hall over a year ago. We got on so well, instantly having that click together. They came over to my office shortly after and booked me to photograph their wedding. We met again on the 22nd June this year at Fanhams Hall and I did a lovely summer evening pre wedding shoot for them. The shoot went really well and after 10 minutes they were laughing and really into it. We ran through the day and I was aware that it was going to be a big wedding and lots of their friends would be there. See pic below from the Pre Shoot.
The Wedding Day.
I met Hannah and her bridal party in the morning. I captured some lovely images of the girls getting ready, the flowers, dresses, and the shoes. I took Hannah’s dress into the Long Gallery and used the huge window to frame the dress beautifully. I put the dress back nice and carefully in the room then headed down to the Great Hall. Sally from Halo Blossom (Florist) was putting the flowers together.
Alex then arrived with his dad and groomsmen and went to get suited and booted. Fanhams Hall has amazing spaces inside and outside. It was sunny outside so after the initial shots in the bar I went out into the courtyard with all the boys. I then left Alex with all his family and his huge group of mates.
Hannah’s make up and hair was now done and she was ready to get into her dress. It was at this point that her dad came in and saw her in the dress. It was lovely moment. I did a few pictures of everybody before shooting over to The Long Gallery to get ready for the ceremony. The wedding party soon gathered in the long gallery and the ceremony was under way. The Long gallery has huge windows which is great for me as I love to use of natural lighting. I discretely moved around getting the moments that were precious as they unfolded. After the ceremony the guests relaxed with drinks and canapés in the gardens.
I took a huge picture of all the guests with the bride and groom and soon had the groups shots done and dusted. This enabled me to whisk off around the formal gardens with the bride and groom. Huge thanks to Shreya the maid of honour for helping with the dress, she is getting married herself in only 3 weeks time and will make a stunning bride. Whilst we were getting the pictures the wedding party enjoyed Jenga and other garden games. The guests then gathered in the Great Hall for the wedding breakfast. After everyone was fed and watered a sequence of meaningful and emotional speeches followed with Alex absolutely smashing it and getting his huge applause each time from his mates and family.
A small break allowed guests to enjoy the evening sun after the speeches. I had a few minutes to take advantage of this with Alex and Hannah for a sunset shoot. We got on the golf buggy and got all round the grounds using the japanese gardens and then the woodland area. The woodland area was stunning with the soft sun creating a mystical light – similar to something out of the game of thrones.
The evening was soon on its way with the bride and groom cutting their wedding cake and then going straight into their first dance. Everyone then joined in and filled the dance floor. The band were superb and the guests threw some groovy moves and shapes. I got some great party shots and finished the photos with a beautiful shot on the staircase with the help of G one of the couples friends who held the light for a few minutes.
“Hannah and Alex, I knew this was going to be a great wedding but wow. I have never seen a couple with such a huge group of friends. I felt the love for you from everyone in the room when I was around you both. You are a great couple and I will never forget this day it really was perfect”.JP
