I am writing this blog whilst sitting on the beach in Cyprus. After a very busy few months and a short gap in weddings we decided to get away for a short break.
I met Christie and Danny when they came along to a wedding show – instantly we had a great connection and got on so well. It actually turned out that I’d photographed friends of the couple so I came highly recommended.
The day was here, the weather was nice; I knew I was going to get some really beautiful shots today.
The day started with me arriving at Fanhams Hall 3 hours before the ceremony. When I arrived Christie was having her hair and make up done and drinking a nice glass of sparkling rosé. Christie looked at the camera for the first photo and I could tell straight away she was very photogenic. I was introduced to all the girls and spent a bit of time getting some natural pictures. Danny arrived at the hotel with some of his close friends and his best man Ronnie. Ronnie had flown all the way from Australia for the day. We went up into the room and the boys started to get ready. I hung Danny’s tailor made suit by the window to concentrate on the detailing of the suit, pure class; a grey Prince of Wales’s Check. They started to get themselves organised, cracking open beers and playing some tunes. I left them to it and returned later to get those all-important getting ready shots that I love to take.
Christie was now ready to get into her dress so after a few photos with all the girls I left the room and returned to Danny and his boys to continue the getting ready shots. Christie was now getting into her dress and looked fabulous, it was at this point her dad came in and saw her; I photographed this beautiful moment. After some pictures with everybody I made my way to get ready for the outside wedding ceremony. The wedding was beautiful. It took place on a croquet lawn with the beautiful setting of Fanhams Hall behind it. After a lovely wedding ceremony Christie and Danny stood on the main steps posing for photos whilst all the wedding guests were organised for the confetti shot. The bride and groom ran through the line, everyone threw it; a perfect photo moment. The bride and groom greeted all their guests in their drinks reception. After a little while I took them across some of the best areas at Fanhams. I used the formal gardens, fountain and gated areas. The best man is a professional drone cameraman in Australia. He sent the drone up and filmed the couple. He also taught me a few great moves which I will be using myself when I get the opportunity. I shot all the main family and friends pictures before heading in to the great Hall. I knew I’d get the opportunity later to get out into the Japanese gardens and really wanted the evening light for the romantic shots.
After a great meal and 3 outstanding speeches we headed out on the golf buggy. We went into the heart of the gardens. With the drone following us it made for some great fun and laughter. The Great Hall had now been transformed for the evening by Lovelight. The cake was put into the middle of the Dancefloor, guests surrounded it and Christie and Danny made their entrance in. The great Hall erupted in cheers and the couple then cut their wedding cake. It was now time for the first dance, Christie and Danny had their first dance together; guests were smiling and crying – this moment was amazing.
Christie and Danny. The day was perfect, the guests amazing and the weather magnificent. Thank you for choosing me to photograph your day – I honestly loved every minute spending it with you both. I look forward to seeing you very soon for the viewing.
