I met Demi when she came to a wedding show at Waltham Abbey Marriott Hotel. She was there with her very close friend/maid of honour Mary. The three of us had such a laugh and although the wedding show wasn’t massively busy people who were there were looking over at us as we were getting on really well. That evening Demi chatted with Mario and text me to say she wanted me to photograph her wedding. I was delighted we got on brilliantly and I knew this was going to be a great wedding.
The day before the wedding I decided to take a look at the venue as it was a venue that I hadn’t photographed wedding at before. When I got there I realised there were no grounds or gardens. So I needed to look for somewhere close by to take the bride and groom to. I found Arnos Park and could see that it would work a treat. I could see that the timing was very tight for the meal. So I spoke to the banqueting manager and she said she’d try and get a little bit of extra time. With 150 guests, 5 bridesmaids, a quick stop at the park and all pics to be taken in 45 minutes. I knew it was going to be tight even for me and I can get on and work quick. It all worked out and we got everything done.
The wedding day went so well starting with me getting some pictures at the house with Demi. I then headed over to Arnos Grove to arrive at the venue in good time for the ceremony. Mario was there with his guests..this was the first time I had met him and it turns out we grew up in the same area “small world”.
Demi arrived in her white London Cab with her bridal party and the ceremony started. After the ceremony Demi and Mario had reception drinks and greeted their guests. We then jumped in to the London Cab for the 2 minute journey down the road to the Park. Ten minutes later we were back and I shot all the family and friends pictures using the steps inside the venue.
The meal was then served and was really nice, I was sat with the DJ in the room so could get natural shots throughout the meal. After the meal the speeches started which were all brilliant. Mario’s brother Don was the best man and his speech was very articulate and brilliant. Then it was Mario who had written a great poem which had everyone on the edge of their seats. Then Marios other brother who is a stand up comedian did a little piece which he had written which had the whole room in fits of laughter.
After the speeches Demi and Mario cut their wedding cake and then started the dancing off. Costas the DJ had the dance floor packed out with the traditional Italian and Greek Music. I got some great pictures and then said goodnight and left Demi and Mario to enjoy the rest of their party.
