JULES AND TOMS WEDDING AT HERTFORD CASTLE
The day started nice and early with Tom and his best men getting ready in Buntingford. They got ready in a really old cottage which was full of character. I then headed over to Welwyn Garden City to photograph Jules. The wedding ceremony took place in The Downshire Suite at Hertford Castle and the reception at Hertford House Hotel.
I hadn’t met Jules and Tom before the big day but after a great chat on the phone they booked straight in. I had been recommended by one of Jules friends whose wedding I photographed.
Jules and Tom make a fantastic couple photography was very important for them. Most especially pictures with their two amazing children Zak and Annalise. The day was amazing the sun was out and there was a slight cloud overhead too, so perfect conditions for photography; sun and cloud cover.. Jules and Tom were so relaxed in front of the camera and really came over well in front of the camera. We were limited with the covid restrictions but this didn’t change a thing. The guests were all lovely people and we had a great day together.
I used the Castle gardens for the main photos mainly concentrating on the entrance area. The stone work and gardens really do make an amazing backdrop for your wedding photos. The Grade 1 listed building forms part of what was the original castle. Dating back to Queen Elizabeth 1 where she spent much of her childhood. So there was a sense of history that was made today, not just by two families joining together but by choosing such an historic and beautiful location.
Hertford House was only a short walk through the castle grounds and was the perfect venue for Jules and Tom to have their wedding meal. Outside and surrounded by their closest family and friends.
