It was an absolute privilege to be asked to photograph Jess and Deans wedding. I have known Jess and her family for many years and back in the day worked with her and her sister Callan at wedding venues when they were waitressing. I met Dean back in 2019 when he came to a wedding show that I was exhibiting at. He was then one of the the best men at his friends wedding that I was photographing at Fanhams Hall.
The newlyweds were looking for natural and relaxed wedding photography, which is my speciality. The day started with Dean and his two best men getting ready in Welwyn Garden City. I then headed over to Waltham Cross to see Jessica who was surrounded by her bridesmaids and mum and dad. Jess and all the girls were getting ready and having their hair and make up done. What really stood out was Jessica’s wedding dress, I made sure I photographed it from many different angles as she wore it throughout the day to remind her of how stunning it looked through the entire wedding.
Using a variety of lenses the main ones being 85mm and 70-200mm. Other than the zoom they are all prime lenses. The 70-200 mm zoom lens means I can stay far enough away to get the natural photos that I love to take.
Time was ticking so I jumped in the car and headed to the church to photograph Dean arriving. Jess arrived shortly after, there were lots of small groups of people cheering as she arrived. The ceremony was performed by Grant the curate at St Augustines Church. he delivered a ceremony full of love, humour and lots of singing. When Jess and Dean came out afterwards we shot some lovely photos with all the guests whilst having a glass of prosecco.

We then headed off to take some photos of Jess and Dean on their own. As a recommended professional photographer at Hanbury Manor I pulled a few strings and we were allowed to use the grounds for a photoshoot. This worked out beautifully, the sun was out and the gardens looked amazing. We then headed over to Nuthampstead for the wedding reception and to see all the guests. Whilst sitting there I put the drone up and did a quick fly round before the meal came, which was amazing.
The speeches then started which were really good with Bill the father of the bride doing a fantastic speech then Dean who was brilliant and finally the best men. They managed to put Dean on the edge of the seat at various moments and had everyone rolled up with laughter.
