BEFORE THE WEDDING.
I was recommended to Katie and James from a customer of mine whose daughters wedding I photographed 18 months ago.
The Wedding Day
I arrived to photograph the groom (James) at 11.15 am. When I got there James and his two best men and ushers were finishing getting ready. James was in his braces and was getting dressed with the rest of his mates. I did a few photos to capture the moment and part of the story. I left the house and made my way over to Mill Hill to get to Katie and start the photos.
When I arrived at the house Katie , her two sisters Jessica, Libby and cousin Samantha (the Bridesmaids) and brides mum Tracey were all having their hair and make up done. Once the make up and hair were finished katie got into her dress with the help of her mum and dad. Once she was ready we went into the the lounge and shot the home picture. I then left and headed over to the Church. This was the first time that I have worked at St Pauls Church and as soon as I got in there the vicar Father Jonathan came over and presented me with a A5 page of the strict rules that he has in place at this church for photographers…. obviously he is not used to working with Pro photographers who respect the church and know whats acceptable and whats not. It was a huge shame as the church was so beautiful but other than the First hymm I was not allowed to take any photos at all.
After the Ceremony we went outside, there were grey clouds in the sky and I realised that we had limited time to get these shots done.I did all the pictures nice and quick with the help of the ushers Sam and Keiran. The Wedding car pulled round to the church so that the couple could get in, the beautiful thing with this particular car is that the brides parents had it on their wedding day 31 years ago and it is still owned by the same family.
We headed off and as soon as we started to make our way over to the Golf Club the rain came down very heavily. The couple went into the main clubhouse to see their guests and have their drinks reception and once this was done we shot a few fun shots and then the guests were told to make their way through into the Marquee. We all sat down and had a great 3 course meal then had 4 great speeches, Brides dad, Groom and then the two best men.
After the meal the couple cut their wedding cake and then started the evening dancing off with their first dance and then Katie, her bridesmaids and a selected group of ladies all did a dance as cheerleaders finishing off with Katie being picked up ten feet high.
On a personal note to the bride and groom.
Saturday was a brilliant day, so relaxing and a lots of fun aswell – shame that the church rules were so strict but there you go, it didnt affect anything from my perspective. See you both when you get back from your honeymoon.
Here is a selection of pictures that I have chosen from the day. They are low resolution. JP
