The Big Day.
The day started with me arriving at Fanhams hall to meet Scott and his mates at 11am. When I got there Scott was in the room having a beer with his close friends. His dad Andy was in there with him and also some of his close Football and Army mates. Scott and his Groomsmen served our country in the Army and are top guys. You see the close relationship they have and its beautiful to see.
I went over to see Kim and get some pictures of her and the girls getting ready. They were very chilled and enjoying the morning together. I met Kim and Scott when they came to a wedding show that I was exhibiting at. We got on very well and they went on to book me to photograph their big day.
The wedding went perfectly and was held in The Long Gallery at Fanhams Hall. This is a beautiful room which overlooks the stunning gardens and grounds. As Kim walked down the aisle with her dad Vic the rain was hammering down outside. As soon as she saw Scott, I couldn’t believe it; the sun came out and shone through the beautiful windows. The ceremony was small and intimate. Afterwards Kim and Scott signed the official registers and then headed down to the Library for their drinks reception with their guests.
I looked outside and could see that the rain had stopped but the ground was wet so I took the guests outside, keeping everybody away from the grass. The whole wedding party came out and joined the bride and groom for a big group shot. Everybody then went in and I headed down into the beautiful gardens to get the some great shots of the Bride and Groom together. The wind was blowing quite hard so Scott held the vale to stop it blowing away. I used the Formal gardens and then the Japanese Bridges for the main shots. I finished the shots in the Courtyard at the front of the house.
The guests were all comfortable and warm so I decided to shoot the family and friends pictures inside against the fire. This worked really well, everyone wanted pictures with the couple so I took lots of shots here.
We all sat down for the meal and Scott and Kim put me and Alfie the MC/ DJ together on a table with their close family and friends. This was lovely and we had the most amazing meal. The speeches then started and finished with Macca the best man delivering a speech to his closest friend and comrade which was up there with some of the best ones I’ve heard.
The evening guests now arrived and it was time for the first dance. Everyone surrounded the dance floor and Scott and Kim cut their wedding cake. They then started the dancing off with the first dance together as Mr and Mrs Corless.
Scott and Kimberley, id just like to say thank you for booking me to photograph your big day. It was an amazing wedding and you both did so well getting all the photos taken in the strong wind. But you did it and did so well. Have a fantastic honeymoon and I look forward to seeing you when you get home. JP
