How We Met.
I first Laura and Daniel back in August 2016 when they were at a wedding and Laura was maid of honour for her best friend Laura Piazza (one of the maid of honours). We got on so well at that wedding, I instantly thought what a great couple they are. Then when they booked their venue we met up and they booked a beautiful Storybook Photography Package with me.
The Wedding Day.
All week the weather was wet and todays forecast was rain all day. I woke up the morning of the wedding the birds were singing in the trees I was hopeful for dry weather and then saw it was wet. It had been raining all night and the ground was soaked. I made my way over to Mulberry House it was still pouring. I was prepared for a wet day but knew that it would stop and when it did id be ready. That moment came later literally for 3 minutes when it did stop.
When I arrived at Mulberry House I went up and saw Laura and her girls getting ready. Everyone was really relaxed, hair and make up was done and the girls had just had some food. We hung the dresses up in the little dressing room and the girls posed for some great photos. Laura looked absolutely beautiful her make up was flawless, we put her amazing wedding dress by the window, she stood by it and I got some lovely shots of her and then with her mum. I left the girls and went over to Daniels room to meet the boys and get some shots of them all getting ready. Daniel was helped into his suit by his two best men Ricky and George and was looking extremely sharp. He put his watch on which was a present from his beautiful wife and was now ready to go down and see his guests.
I went down to get set up for the wedding ceremony and saw Mario the videographer .. I hadn’t seen him in a few years and it was great to see him. I did his wedding 18 years ago so we were both really pleased to work together and had lots to catch up on. Laura came down the staircase and then made her way under umbrella to the ceremony.
The Ceremony was lovely and beautifully done by the Essex Registration Team. There were tears, laughter and lots of smiles as they sealed the ceremony with a kiss. Laura and Daniel then walked down the aisle, it was raining quite hard outside so the guests threw the confetti as they made their way out. The Best Men and ushers then taxied the guests across the drive to the main house with umbrellas (great photo opportunity). I then set up an area inside the conservatory to shoot the guest and family shots. At this point there was a slight stop in the rain and Laura and Daniel came outside. I used all my skills and experience and shot some beautiful reportage and natural photos using the doorway and trees to shelter the bride and groom as much as possible.
Everyone then sat down and the speeches started. Daniel went first then Karen the mother of the bride then Big George the best man. The speeches were all great just the right length and full of fun and serious points. The best mans speech was brilliant and it finished with a very heartfelt message to Daniel “you could see the closeness in their friendship”..it was awesome. The meal was then served and I took a well earned break and had some food.
After the meal I looked out again and could see the rain was going break again. So I grabbed the couple and we went over onto the bridge. At this point the rain started and we headed in just missing the wet downpour what was on top of us yet again.
Steve from Strictly dancefloors put the dance floor down, aurora Pearl were set and the room was now ready for the party. Everyone then came in and Daniel and Laura took their positions for the first dance. The Music came on then the room erupted as they performed a choreographed dance routine that had been professionally put together for them. They were fantastic, the guests loved every minute of it. As soon as it finished everyone ran up to the bride and groom kissing and hugging them and the dance floor was packed out. What a party! I was now pretty much finished so I got the Video Team and the bride and groom and finished the photos with a stunning night shot of the couple outside the front of Mulberry House “what a great way to finish the photos”.
Laura and Daniel. Many congratulations guys. It was a privilege to be a part of your wedding day. I loved the day so much! Have a great honeymoon and I will see you soon for the viewing. JP
