Lucy and Toms Essendon Country Club Wedding. The couple tied the knot in The Grand Barn at Essendon Country Club. The getting ready shots started with Lucy, her mum and bridesmaids in the new wedding cottage. Tom arrived and got ready in the air conditioned room just off of the Grand Barn. So they were well away from each other whilst also both getting ready there. Tom is  very well known by all the team at Essendon not because he is a single figure golfer but because he worked there as a young lad.

When I arrived Lucy was up in the bedroom having her hair done by her close friend Abby. I was there with Anthony video so we took the dress and hung it in a lovely spot to get that important shot both for me and for the video. Lucy then came in for a few photos, then all the bridesmaids came in and joined her for some fun pics.

Time was ticking on and It was now time to get set up for the wedding ceremony. The Grand Barn was full with well over 100 people sitting waiting for Lucy to make her entrance. Tom was ready, looking handsome with his best man at his side.

Essendon Country Club Photographer

What I think gives me a great advantage as a Essendon Country Club wedding photographer is knowing the venue and its surroundings so well. When photographing a wedding or doing a pre-wedding couple shoot I always know where to go to get the best views, light and angles.

After the wedding ceremony the couple came out for their confetti shot. I had arranged the whole wedding to assemble into two lines and then Lucy and Tom walked through the middle to a huge cheer. They then had a drinks reception spending time with their guests before we started the group pictures. Then Jo and the team at Essendon bought the golf buggy over and we headed out onto the Golf Course for the main bride and groom shoot.

For the main shoot I mainly used the fairways, lakes and bridges on the new course then went into the shady side of the fairway where the light was soft.

The bulk of the photos were now done and it was time for the meal. Paul the GM and couples close friend at Essendon was master of ceremonies for the day and made all the announcements. After the meal just before the light went we headed out for some fun shots. The light was dropping quickly, the free bar was open so most of the bridal party were pretty lively. This was great though we just about got them done in time. The band were ready and after a beautiful cake cutting Lucy and Tom took to the dance floor for their first dance together.

As they danced into the night it was pretty clear that we had a fabulous selection of guests who were not only classy, but also knew how to have a good time. It was a great day to be part of a wedding where I connected with so many people. I finished the photos with a sparkler shot and picture by the lake.

“Lucy and Tom, what a great day. Thank you so much choosing me to photograph your special day. We hit it off the first time we met and seeing you get married was a real pleasure. It was such a great day  and definitely one to remember!”
