I first met Laura and Richard when I was recommended to them by our mutual friend Sarah Wilkinson. I photographed Sarah 3 sisters weddings. Her and her husband Anthony are lovely people.
The day started at the bride and grooms house in Chingford. The rugby was on, Richard was getting ready with his best men and one of his ushers Carl. When the game finished I took some pics of them getting ready before making the journey over to Gaynes Park to see Laura and the Girls.
They were all getting ready in The Apple Loft, a beautiful cottage on the Gaynes Park Estate. Laura did her own make up which looked amazing. Her hair was being finished off. All the girls had pictures in their dressing gowns before getting into their dresses.
Once they were in their dresses Anthony from spotlight weddings and myself went in and got those important getting ready shots. Laura’s dad Ken was waiting outside the cottage and after a little drink from his hip flask Laura came out to see her dad.
The wedding ceremony took place in The Orangery, a beautiful building and light space in the main gardens of Gaynes Park. After the ceremony Laura and Richard had a wedding celebrant conduct a blessing. This was absolutely perfect.
The ceremony finished and all the guests made their way outside into the light rain for the confetti shot. The bride and groom then walked out and everyone threw it. I then took the photographs in the gardens the rain started again so I used the shelter of the trees before heading back into the orangery. Laura and Rich then had their drinks reception with all their friends and family. I shot the group pictures inside in the warm then we all headed over to the main barn for the speeches and meal.
The speeches were all brilliant with the first speech being done by the grooms dad, a very articulate speech given on behalf of the parents. This was followed by Rich and then the two best man Jim and Jimmy. Three fantastic speeches. Laura had arranged a surprise saxophone for Rich, he was brilliant and the audience participation was full on too. After a lovely meal the first dance started and we finished the photos with a shot on the bench in the barn which looked amazing.
“What an amazing wedding, have a great honeymoon and we look forward to seeing you soon when you are back from your amazing honeymoon. JP”
