The Barn At Alswick Wedding Photography

THE WEDDING OF CARLY AND CHRIS AT THE BARN AT ALSWICK. Carly and Chris held their wedding ceremony and reception at The Barn At Alswick Herts.  In all the years I have been taking professional photographs I have not photographed a wedding here. This was my first wedding here and I loved it. Its good to shoot at a venue for the first time because your guaranteed to find areas that may not have been used before by anyone else. 

The day before the wedding was the hottest day of the year so I was very pleased that we had rain over night which bought the temperature down and cleared the humidity. When I arrived with Anthony *(spotlight weddings) “part of the Dream Team”. The florists were setting the barn for the ceremony,  the formal gardens were open to the public for viewing.  Infact the last coach of German tourists were just leaving, when you see the gardens you can see why. They are manicured to perfection with a vast variety of flowers the majority of which were in bloom.

This naturally made for fantastic photos because not only was it slightly overcast (meaning no hard shadows from the sun) but it was a cool temperature and the light was perfect.

The ceremony was intimate and lasted about 25 minutes. Chris and the groomsmen arrived in Classic VW’s so we had them all ready for photos afterwards. I then shot all the group pics and then after a confetti shot I took the bride and groom off round the estate. Rachel the brides sister came with us for this and I shot classical pictures with the main house and gardens and also reportage (natural) using the high grass and glamping area. 

After the meal I gathered the bridal party together and we went out for some fun shots walking and generally having a laugh with the bridesmaids and groomsmen. These were great fun pics, then just as we finished the shoot; the sun popped out through the clouds. I made use of it and shot some lovely sunsets and silouhettes which you can see at the end of the photos below.
