The Initial meeting.

About six weeks ago I received a phone call from a friend of the bride and groom (Joanne Fox Selby) “lovely lady”.  She explained to me that her friend from Brazil was over and planning a wedding very last minute.  She arranged for Alex the bride to come in and see me to discuss the day. Alex came to see me all the way from Clacton on the train, so I went and picked her up from the station and we came back to my Studio. Over the next couple of hours and cups of coffee after I booked her in. We facetimed her sister in Orlando and gave her the news, the Photography was now booked in.  Over the next few weeks we kept in touch and I was really looking forward to meeting Janek and the rest of the family.

The Wedding Day.

I arrived at Theobalds Park 2.5 hours before the ceremony to get all the shots of both the groom and the bride getting ready.  Janek arrived and met up with his two brothers in the car park.  They walked to the reception and checked into the room.  As they walked in Alex had arranged for some pictures that were shot in Brazil to be printed (by myself) and she positioned them around the room so that when he walked in he could see them.  Needless to say he was smiling as Alex is a very beautiful Brazilian woman.

I left the boys and headed over to The Ridings Barn where Alex’s room was.  As I walked in Alex was having her make up done and was surrounded by her mum, maid of honours, bridesmaids and nieces.  They were all getting ready together and drinking champagne.  Alex then got into her underwear and looked amazing – posing for some pictures whilst holding her beautiful red rose bouquet and her dress. She then got into her dress and came out into the courtyard to have some pictures taken before heading to Bishops College for the Wedding Ceremony.

I arrived at Bishops College and saw Janek and his two best men they walked into the octagonal suite. All the guests were seated and cheered as Janek walked in. Alex then arrived and was given away by her mother Irma a beautiful Brazilian lady who sang at the end of the ceremony  and has the most beautiful voice.  During the signing of the register Janek’s middle daughter Jacquelyn sang acapello to the guests.. “what a talented young woman”.

After the ceremony we headed out and I took the photographs quick and effectively as we were very limited on the light as the ceremony was at 4.30 and there was chill in the air. I wanted to get back to Theobalds Park to get some pictures before the light went.  We took some amazing pictures at the front of The Mansion House and the tree house. Alex and Janek worked the camera really well and the shoot felt effortless with them kissing and laughing. We then headed to the Ridings Barn and the bride and groom then headed in and everyone was cheering.

The meal was served and afterwards the speeches started and were brilliant (Alex cuddled her mum and translated from english into portugese for her). When the speeches finished the bride and groom had their first dance and then everyone joined in and had a great party.

We then went outside and shot a few night pictures using off camera flash.  I then said my goodbyes and left everyone to continue partying.

Personal message to Alexandra and Janek. It was lovely to spend the day with you both, your families and your friends.  The weather was perfect and I was so impressed with how you posed for all your pictures and didn’t moan or complain.  We had a lot of fun with everyone and I loved spending the day and evening with you.
