Fanhams Hall Wedding. Back at the gorgeous Fanhams Hall near Hertford for the classically elegant wedding of Sarah-Jane and Ian!

The Big Day…

Ian got ready at home in hertford with his son and two future son in laws. Then one of his close friends arrived in a 1980’s Rolls Royce to take him to the venue Fanhams Hall in Ware, Hertfordshire.

Sarah-Jane and the girls were getting ready in the Bridal Suite at Fanhams. I joined them there when hair and make up were well under way. I started with some shots of Sarah-Jane’s gorgeous dress and other details. I took  lots of candid shots of Sarah-Jane and her bridesmaids finishing off hair and make up and enjoying a glass of bubbly.

The boys arrived at Fanhams a bit later so I went down to the courtyard to capture buttonholes going on, followed by a bit of magic by the very talented @leesmith who was booked for the day and doubled up as an informal toastmaster.

Back upstairs hair and make up were finished and it was time for Sarah-Jane to get into her dress. Her son and daughter made sure she was ready to go and they had a lovely family hug and mini pep talk which was lovely to see! Bridesmaids were all there too and it’s safe to say they were impressed with the finished Sarah-Jane!. After a few photos using the lovely Jacobean windows I made my way down for the ceremony.

The Wedding Ceremony took place on The Croquet lawn which benefits greatly from the beautiful Fanhams backdrop. Guests were seated and it was time for the bridesmaids to walk down the aisle, followed by Sarah-Jane who was being given away by her two children 😀

The ceremony was full of love and laughter! Ian’s relations especially enjoyed this part including his two brothers (Great lads). Sarah-Jane and Ian were announced as husband and wife and walked back up the aisle and outside for a confetti tunnel. That kicked off the drinks reception and I let the happy couple chat to their guests for a while before whipping through their group photos. We had plenty of time so I got lots of detail shots of the flowers and so on in the Great hall whilst Sarah-Jane and Ian enjoyed some canapés and a bit of time with their guests and the magician. The Great Hall looked incredible with the most amazing flowers.

We then took Sarah-Jane and Ian around the grounds for some photos of just the two of them. They were such a fun pair to photograph and we got a great mix of natural laughter-filled shots along with a few more “posed” ones (though I do hate that word!).

Guests were then called into The long Gallery for the wedding breakfast and speeches. Sarah-Jane and Ian were announced to massive cheers lifting the room of the Great Hall. Then it was speech time, all 4 speeches were hilarious – I had so many great reaction shots from Ian’s speech alone!

After the meal and a nice chill out with their guests it was back to The Great Hall for Sarah-Jane and Ian’s first dance. These guys love a dance so they really got into it which was fab. I got loads of great party shots during the band’s first set and then left them in peace!
