Megan and Christophers wedding at Theobalds Park Mansion

What an amazing day we had for this stunning wedding at Theobalds Park Mansion in Hertfordshire. Located between Enfield and Hertford this is a romantic, luxury country house venue surrounded by sweeping views. The interiors are filled with chandeliers, fairy lights, high ceilings and staircases. Ive been fortunate enough to be recommended here for many years as their preferred Photographer. Megan and Christopher live in Gidea Park, Romford. People travelled all over to be at their wedding. The best man lives down in Bournemouth and Christopher’s dad travelled all the way over from Jamaica. This is where Christopher and his best man/cousin Kristian grew up in the early part of their lives. They are very close also with Daniel and Damien the two groomsmen (also cousins). When you see Christopher with his best man and close friends you cant help but be in awe, they are a very nice bunch of people. To the point that Christopher was offered a private jet home from a group of wealthy Russians he met on his stag do in Barcelona, they just wanted to party with them; going by the dancing in the eve “they party HARD”. Megan did so much of the creative side of the wedding too and even made the amazing wedding cake.
I arrived to Theobalds Park to meet Christopher and get some shots of him getting ready with his three cousins. This was the first time id met them all and they were great lads. The brandy was opened and it was very chilled in the room. We went out and did a few pics and I left them to enjoy this part of the morning and said id see them later when they head over for the ceremony.
Megan and the girls were getting ready in the Mansion House. There was a huge room for the hair & make up, a room just off of that with a lovely big window in for getting dressed. I made great use of this room shooting many pics there using the natural light. Megan and the girls were in great spirits and enjoying a nice glass of champagne. The mansion was clear of guests so the bridesmaids carried the dress down and we did some lovely shots on the main staircase. Megan then joined in and looked stunning, her hair was lovely and her make up on point. After some beautiful shots they all went up to finish getting ready. The brides mum and little sister Freya were now in the room too and helped put Megan in her dress. I knew I had a few minutes so I cleared some tables and chairs and got a beautiful picture of Megan in her dress against the huge window. Megan was now ready to go, she looked stunning and walked down the staircase, I took a nice sweeping shot from the top as she walked down.
The ceremony went without a hitch Christopher was ready, looked dapper and was smiling. He took a little look and could see his stunning Megan walking down the aisle towards him with her mum.
We had great weather all day so we were able to get plenty of photos outside. The guests were able to congregate in the library and have mulled wine and canapés. I then got everyone to join the bride and groom outside on the steps for a group shot of everyone, after some nice family shots we finished the outside photos with the bride and groom at the front of the house with the bridal party.
The couple were announced in through the huge doors and walked to their seats with the guests going crazy, cheering and whistling. The speeches were all brilliant, very heartfelt and amusing. Afterwards they enjoyed a lovely dinner.
Finally it was time for the first dance, everyone soon joined in and the party was on. . The DJ was brilliant he had everyone up with the couple doing the electric slide for 12 minutes non stop. Great party and loads of great pictures. I finished the shots with a lovely shot of Megan outside with the sparkly lights and the couple out the front of the mansion on their own.
All in all this was a brilliant wedding day. With amazing weather for November, a stunning venue and a lovely group people. The whole day had a wonderful atmosphere, it really was a pleasure to photograph. Thank you to Megan for choosing me (I say Megan because as Christopher said in his speech that she booked everything) but Christopher as soon as I met you liked you and I know that we will keep in touch after the wedding. Megan and Christopher thank you for choosing me to photograph your amazing wedding. The day was brilliant from start to finish. Have a great honeymoon and I look forward to seeing you very soon for the viewing. Also thank you to Theobalds Park for looking after me on the day and providing me with a very tasty dinner.
