Mulberry House Wedding Photographer | John Paul ODonnell. The 18th September was a beautiful bright day with some cloud, perfect photography weather. This day would have been Jenna’s mum and dads 45th wedding anniversary if Jennas mum was still alive. There was an element of sadness for Jenna, her dad Ken and nan Alice but once they had their private moment together the day started beautifully and what a day it was.

Jenna and Matt met when they were 4 and a half years old at Primary school. They are childhood sweethearts and with their American Bulldog Spud they are a perfect 3. I knew we would all have a great time, Matt and his close friends are all into their martial arts (something that is close to my heart as I gained my Black Belt in karate back in 1994). Well these lads were well up for it and we had some great shots lined up for later.

Both Matt and Jenna got ready at the venue in different ends of the country house. I work at Mulberry House frequently which is great as I know all the team there and we always work together to make things perfect. Anthony from Spotlight weddings arrived and we started with the boys shots getting ready.

Once the boys were done and suited we left them to it to greet the guests. Then, I went in to the main room to see Jenna. Her make up was being finished, dress was hanging up and she was ready to get into her beautiful dress. Ken her dad then came into the room and after a lot of tears and cuddles she was ready to get married.

The ceremony took place outside by the lake and was beautifully conducted by the Essex Registration team. After a great drinks reception I went up to the main window and took a photo of the whole wedding together. Then after a few group photos I decided to take the shots with the bridal party and then the bride and groom. I used the main lake area, bridge and front of the mansion house for the main pictures.

Everyone was now ready to into the marquee for the speeches and meal. After 4 brilliant speeches father of the bride, groom, best men and then the bride we sat down for a an amazing meal. I will never forget the dessert, my absolute favourite (Creme Brulee) was amazing.

The light was dropping fast so myself and Anthony Video took the couple out to a secret area that we use for some lovely sunsets and silhouettes. Making sure to capture that final image for ending of the Storybook.

I knew their big day was going to be a cracker, and so it proved. It was full of love, fun, laughter: just how I feel a great wedding should be… and relaxed yet effortlessly stylish. Massive congrats to you both once again and thanks for having me along for the ride!

Jenna and Matt, when I started to select the pictures for this, I stood back with butterflies in my tummy because taking your photos was a real pleasure for me. Your families and friends were some of the nicest people i’ve ever met. You are both made for each other and have a beautiful connection that some of these shots managed to capture.

See you soon for the viewing.
