I’m John Paul ODonnell a high end Mulberry House wedding photographer. I’d love to hear from you if you like my style, get in touch today.
Katie and Thomas were married at Mulberry House on Saturday 30th November 2024. This was my penultimate wedding of the year.
I first met Katie and Thomas when they were at a wedding a few months before. Katie was one of the bridesmaid and went above and beyond for the bride Cherie. Thomas and I got on great too and chatted about their upcoming wedding in a few months time. I mentioned that photographing a wedding in November on a potentially wet day was not a walk in the park and you need to know what your doing. After all it could be dark, wet and little time. They already had an old work colleague booked in for their November wedding. But after seeing how I shot the wedding they were guests at and the way I interacted with the guests, they decided that they wanted me to take their pics. So they cancelled the previous photographer and booked me.
The day itself was filled with lots of fun and banter. When it came to photographs it was very important to Katie and Thomas to get some beautiful pictures. The most important one being with their children.

Thomas and his brothers decided to get ready at Mulberry House, this was lovely and it was great to meet them and their dad who is a total legend.

Katie and the bridesmaids got ready in the main room then we went into the beautiful”Tresco Suite” for the main bridal portraits and reveal.

It was now time for the wedding ceremony. This took place in The Copper Room, this was one of the last weddings in there before the refurbishment started. Its a great room for pictures with plenty of space to move around and after the refurbishment is going to rival any top venue. Then it was outside to get the group photos done and the bridal portraits. Whilst this was being done Mark Greatbach (toastmaster) was getting everyone together for the next group shot which speeded everything up.
I mainly used the front of the house for the pics as it was dry, sheltered from the wind; plus the light reflected up of the gravel which looked really good. It was then over to the bridge for some shots before the light totally went. Then it was speeches, first dance and party time.

If you have ever seen Mulberry House lit up at night you will know it looks amazing. So I finished the photos out there and got some lovely final shots.
