Natalie and Martyns Wedding at St Johns Great Amwell and Fanhams Hall. A Beautiful April spring wedding at these two stunning Herts locations. This was a brilliant day and one I never wanted to end. From start to finish it was brilliant, great couple, great people and two stunning venues to shoot at.
The day started with the Martyn and his groomsmen getting ready at Fanhams Hall. A few beers and a competitive game of table tennis..what better way was there to start the day. It was then onto the brides parents house for the getting ready shots. The ladies were all getting ready Mick (Dad) was dropping the family dog off. Tracy (Mum) was ironing a bridesmaid dress. All things that go on behind the scenes at a wedding.
Once everyone was ready, the cars arrived and we all headed over to St John The Baptist church in Great Amwell for the ceremony. St Johns is a beautiful church with the most gorgeous bell tower which I had special permission to go into from the Tower Captain.
The ceremony was conducted beautifully by Reverend Dr Sarah Forrest. The guests lined the 80 foot walkway either side and Natalie and Martyn walked through as the guests threw the confetti. I had arranged to head straight to Fanhams Hall to take all the pictures. When we arrived there we went down into the Japanese Gardens and then the Formal Gardens for the main photos.
After getting all the shots I needed and getting those all important shots with the house behind. The bride and groom joined their guests for the drinks reception. The best men then got all the guests together and I took a photo of everyone and then all the family and friends pictures.
The meal was now ready so everyone sat down in the Lakeside Pavillion (this is a lovely spot with a huge fountain). After a beautiful meal by the Fanhams Hall team the speeches started. They were brilliant and interesting speeches that had the rooms attention for the complete duration. If I was to pick one it would be the father of the brides. Absolute genius and one of the best I have ever seen.
The bride and her sisters “Emma and Jodie” sing in a choir, so everyone went into the Pavillion Bar and were treated to private Choir performance with the bride and her sisters taking taking centre stage. The cake cutting and first dance followed and the party started. I got plenty of great dancing shots and finished the photos with a picture of Natalie and Martyn on the terrace with the sun setting “the perfect way to end the day”.
A special mention has to go to Jodie (Brides Sister) on making such a beautiful wedding cake.
