I had an amazing day for this stunning wedding at Coltsfoot country retreat in Bulls Green, Hertfordshire. Located between Welwyn and Watton at Stone this is a romantic, luxury barn venue surrounded by sweeping views. The interiors are very sumptuous, with a log fire, grand piano, fairy lights and nice furnishings, its always lovely to shoot at this venue.
I arrived to Coltsfoot to meet Samantha and the girls getting ready. They were all in great spirits and enjoying a glass of bubbly. Soon Samantha was ready to go, her sister Natalie held her hand and was now ready to walk her down the aisle and give her away.
The ceremony went without a hitch and Samantha looked absolutely stunning when she walked down the aisle in her beautiful dress with her Sister. Kristopher looked very happy, smiling as his beautiful bride walked towards him. The wedding ceremony was conducted by Richard Edwards who is a very close family friend of the bride and grooms.
We had good weather all day, sunny but a freezing wind so we were able to get some great photos of the guests outside on the patio for drinks and canapés. We just had to take them with plenty of gaps for the bride to warm up again. I then whisked Samantha and Kristopher off for a short while to get a few nice classical shots around the venue utilising the stunning gardens and views. I mainly used the view at the front of the venue as the sky looked amazing and the location was perfect. The bride and groom really put a lot of effort in at this point and nailed all the shots. Then we were back inside for the wedding breakfast and speeches.
The bride and groom were announced in through the doors and walked to their seats with the guests cheering them on. The speeches went very well and were all very heartfelt and amusing. Samantha’s Bridesmaids Lindsay and Vicky did the father of the bride speech, then Kristopher, then Kristopher’s brother Nick did his best mans speech.
Finally it was time for the first dance. Samantha and Kristopher started with a beautiful, romantic dance then there was a crack in the song and it got very dancy and fun; a great choregraphed first dance with the couple using the full dance floor and the guests going crazy for them.
All in all this was a fabulous wedding day. With great weather, a stunning venue and a lovely group of family and friends. The whole day had a fabulous atmosphere and it was a pleasure to photograph. Thank you to Samantha and Kristopher for choosing me as your coltsfoot country retreat wedding photographer and all the best for an amazing future together. Thank you to Coltsfoot for looking after me on the day, to my great friend and Videographer Anthony, Alfie from SPJ and Richard Edwards for being so brilliant. And not forgetting the venue staff for providing us with a very tasty dinner and drinks too.
