It was amazing to be invited to photograph Sarah and Davids outdoor wedding at Sheene Mill. Sheene Mill is situated on the Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire border and is about 35 minutes away from me in Cheshunt, so it’s in an ideal location for me to travel to. Set in 3 acres of beautiful gardens it really is stunning.
I love photographing weddings at Sheene Mill, it is a great and picturesque wedding venue; the Summer House on the river is stunning.
I arrived at the venue nice and early. David was getting ready there with his best men and ushers. They were all relaxed and having a laugh with each other. I got some nice shots of them all at this stage of the morning. David put his watch on and I spent a little bit of time concentrating on some nice window shots. He was nice and relaxed, just as you want to be on your wedding day. I then headed across to get some nice pics of Sarah and the girls getting ready.
When I arrived Sarah was getting her make up done with her bridesmaids. Sarah had the most lovely bridesmaids, they were all helping her get ready. They all went up onto the bed for a group shot and couldn’t stop laughing..it was so funny. I found a nice spot in the room and the bridesmaids hung the dresses together. When Sarah stood by it with her make up and hair done everyone gasped at just how lovely she looked. She was now ready to put her dress on. Davids mum Jean walked in, the reaction was amazing; they had a beautiful moment together. Jean was giving Sarah away you can see the love they have for each other just floods out.
I was really happy when I looked out the window, the sun started to shine. The guests were arriving and having drinks by the river. The atmosphere was a lovely, very chilled and David was talking to his guests. After a few pics with his uncle and groomsmen he was now ready to get married.
Little Olivia came down the aisle and ran to her dad (a moment that will melt any dads heart) the bridesmaids all followed then it was Jean and Sarah. David and Sarah then stood under the gazebo smiling at each other the whole way through.
I really enjoyed capturing the story of the day from both David and Sarah getting ready in the morning until the main dancing in the evening. It was a real pleasure for me to capture the lovely moments as the day unfolded. I met some great people and in a small way felt like a guest at some points chatting to people, having nice conversation and shooting pics at the same time.
Thank you David and Sarah and also thank you Sheene Mill for looking after me on your amazing day. The meal was beautiful, the weather brilliant and a bride and groom that I had a great connection with; we will keep in touch long after the big day.
