Bobbi and Craigs Wedding At Parklands | Quendon Hall Essex hosted the fantastic wedding. The weather was amazing, grounds perfectly maintained. But the best bit the bride and groom are childhood sweethearts with two beautiful children Alfie and Freddie.

Quendon Hall is a 17th Century Mansion nestled within Parklands a 100 acre deer park and is approached by a long drive a mile long. Surrounded by towering trees and a hive of activity from nature particularly deer and horses its a very picturesque setting.  Quendon Hall really is a gorgeous place to celebrate a wedding day. I have been here more than 20 times now. Every time I return to document another couples wedding, the landscape and stories are never the same, each so unique and incomparable.

Being recommended to Bobbi by a couple (Tracey and Tony Smart) whose wedding I did a little while back was lovely, a lot of my bookings come this way. Bobbi and Craig booked me straight away and then also booked Anthony from spotlight weddings to film the big day on my recommendation. We work together regularly and are well known locally as the Dream Team.

We started photographing and filming from 11.30 am with Craig. He was getting ready in the room with his two best men and ushers. With a few laughs and the tattoo reveals I got some great fun shots of the boys getting suited up, then left them to enjoy a few drinks together.

Bobbi, was slightly different, she was having her make up done. The girls were all helping each other and Ruma (bridesmaid) took all the dresses and hung them beautifully in the hallway. This made a lovely picture and then she took Bobbis dress and we hung it for a beautiful photo. After some getting ready and make up shots , Bobbi got into her dress. She looked like a model and posed like one too with small movements and adjustments to each pose. I took this opportunity to capture some nice shots of her mostly in black and white and used the mirrors for the different angles.

The Reveal – when dad saw his daughter

After a beautiful reveal at the top of the staircase and her dad Danny reduced to tears it was now time to go and get married. The ceremony room had been beautifully decorated. It looked incredible I must say. Rings exchanged, the register signed and the newly married couple proclaimed! it was now time for the bride and groom to get outside and see all their guests.

The emotion of the day can never be fully anticipated so I like to blend into the background and capture these moments as they happen. There are some weddings that stand above others, not because how much they spent or how extravagant it was. But because of a personal moment that you see through the camera lens and capture it as the eye sees it.  A perfect example was Bobbie and Craig kissing and laughing in the gazebo.

The photos, speeches and that first dance

The main photos began with everyone in one big shot I then took all the family and friend shots. We were spoilt for choice with the backdrops and locations at Quendon Hall.  Mainly sticking to the main house, gardens and driveway for the shots on their own. I like to take this time with the couple to capture these breathtaking shots and it gives them time to compose and have time alone together. The colours and scenery were beautiful and looked like a backdrop to a film as you can see below.  As we were in the deer park we couldn’t throw confetti outside so I set up a great shot inside on the steps.

The speeches were before the meal so I set myself up in a good spot and snapped away. All great speeches but if I had to pick one out it would be the father of the brides (Danny) absolutely brilliant. The light was dropping fast so after the meal we headed out for ten mins for some evening shots. The bridesmaids all joined in too for some fun pictures, before heading in for the first dance. The dance floor was banging all night with Shellyann and her band smashing out the tunes live and reading the crowd perfectly.
