Man of Honour – Lewis A (Brides Brother)

I first met Jordane when she came to a wedding show with her brother Lewis.  That day that I met her I thought what a beautiful bride she will make, she really is very pretty.they both booked me at that show for their weddings exactly one year apart.  She was groomsmaid to her brother Lewis and on the day she looked amazing in a canary yellow dress... only to be beaten by her amazing wedding dress and Christian Laboutin shoes she wore on her wedding day.

The Day itself.

I arrived to do some groom preparation pictures with Ashley at his house in Stevenage.  The suits were hanging up and the boys were all arriving. I did a few shots of the boys getting ready before heading over to do the make up and hair shots at Jordane mum and dads house.

When I arrived Jordane was having her hair done and her make up was finished, Cheryl the brides mum was out in the garden getting some sun and painting her nails.  Dennis brides dad was getting the dog ready to take her to Coltsfoot as she was part of the wedding as were the bride and grooms 2 sausage dogs. The make up and hair were finished and Lewis took his sister’s wedding dress out to the car.  Everyone came out got into the cars and headed off to Coltsfoot to get the dresses on and crack the champagne open.

When I arrived at Coltsfoot just after midday, surprisingly some guests were already there so Jordane stayed in her room well out of the way. She got in her dress and put her amazing shoes on then posed for some beautiful pictures in the room.. whilst I was doing these Lewis was opening the door so that we got some nice natural light into the fairly dark room.. this was exactly what we needed.

The ceremony started and the bridesmaids made their way down the aisle and then Lewis walked in with the 2 sausage dogs… it was at this moment that Jordane and her dad appeared at the top of the aisle.. she looked beautiful and walked to Ashley who had the biggest smile on his face.  The ceremony was lovely and the guests were seated in the Marquee with the sides up so it was absolutely beautiful with a slight breeze keeping everyone cool.

After the ceremony everyone greeted the bride and groom and they had a lovely drinks reception.  I then got all the guests over and took a picture of the complete wedding.. all the guests in one complete shot (no ladder required Lewis). I then took the group shots.. the sun was trying to come out and there was slight cloud cover so perfect conditions at this fantastic venue.

I then took the bride and groom off round the grounds of Coltsfoot using the long grass and gardens and then finished with some beautiful shots of the couple feeding the horses.

The couple sat down for the meal which was amazing. The staff couldn’t do enough for me.. bringing drinks over and plenty of food which went down really well as I had been going 7 hours and hadn’t really eaten.

The speeches then took place the brides dad Dennis delivered a fantastic speech.. very impressive then Ashley followed and thanked everyone… the best man then finished the speeches with a really impressive and funny speech about his brother.

After the speeches we headed out and the couple greeted their evening guests and then we took some of the couples friends over to the field to get some fun shots and the important finishing picture to the day (shot of bride and groom against the sky).

The couple then cut their cake and then opened a very expensive bottle of Crystal champagne that was a very generous gift by a family member for their engagement Party…they had stored this and saved it to open on their wedding day.   They then started the dancing off with the first dance and then Jordane danced with her dad….that squash and table tennis certainly has helped to get good timing “that man can dance”.

I finished the pictures with some great drunken dancing shots before heading over to say my goodbyes to the couple and the family who I have got to know very well.

Personal note to the Bride and Groom.

Jordane and Ashley, it has been great getting to know you both.  You booked me so long ago for your wedding and it really has been a wedding that I was looking forward to photographing after having met you so long ago and doing Lewis and Adams Wedding a year ago.  Have great honeymoon.
