Frankie and Rikki have to be one of the sweetest couples ever! Their Hertfordshire wedding was easy going and fun – the perfect reflection of this lovely couple. It was such a pleasure to be with them as their Hertfordshire wedding photographer and take their wedding photos.
The wedding ceremony itself took place at Sheene Mill and wow! What a spectacular venue this is. Not only is it brimming with history, it’s also the most amazing backdrop for wedding photographs.
The day started with me going to Stevenage to get some photos of Rikki getting ready with all his groomsmen and his best man. I then drove through the countryside to arrive at Sheene Mill just before midday. Frankie was getting ready at the venue with all her girls. What a lovely bunch of friends ..all so close. The prosecco was flowing and then Frankies dad came in and saw her in the dress. Look at the pictures below to see his reaction!
Frankie looked phenomenal in her stunning wedding dress and her bouquet was the perfect accompaniment. I’m so pleased that I was able to capture Rikki’s reaction when Frankie arrived for the ceremony. The confetti was thrown as they walked down the aisle after signing the marriage certificates. Frankie and Rikki and all their guests had such fun throwing it all and I’m sure that everyone received more than a dusting of confetti!
The bride and groom walked out of a quaint 16th century door and onto a little bridge that crossed one of the streams. I took full use of this and shot some pictures in the old original part of the mill. We then walked out infront of the main house. They then went in and saw their guests for their drinks reception.
There were lots of DIY elements included in the day which made it all the more special. There was a wooden pallet that had the running order of the day on and lots of horseshoes which shows off Frankies love for horses. I just love details like this at weddings.. Its what makes them so unique and personal.
I also have to mention the staff and team at Sheene Mill. Emma and the whole team were absolutely first class. They bought me over drinks and hot food which was amazing. The things you discover when you’re a Hertfordshire wedding photographer!
To sum up Frankie and Rikki’s wedding in one word, it would be ‘fabulous’. The guests had the best day with a couple that they all clearly love very much. We finished the photos with a beautiful sequence of shots taken in the gazebo on the edge of the river as the light fell beautifully.
